A Better Orthodontic Treatment
Over the decades of orthodontic treatment, traditional metal braces have been at the forefront of the industry. While they are reliable and effective, they are also bulky, uncomfortable, off putting in their appearance and inconvenient in many ways. When you wear braces, you essentially have to put your life on hold, avoiding certain foods and activities in order to accommodate your braces.
Thanks to modern advancements in orthodontic technology, we are proud to offer the most cutting-edge treatment at our office: Invisalign clear aligners! These allow you to straighten your smile in style without the hassle of a mouthful of metal.
Low-Impact, High-Performance
Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign clear aligners require only a small amount of work done to the teeth before treatment can begin, and the benefits do not stop there. Other perks of Invisalign treatment include:
- Not having to put your normal diet on pause. You can eat and drink whatever you like, so long as you take care to keep your aligners clean!
- No social pressure. Many people are self-conscious about the look of braces; with Invisalign clear aligners, you do not have to worry about how your smile will look. Almost no one will even notice you have them in, and you can even take them out for important photos or events.
- Increased comfort and convenience. Thanks to their removable nature, Invisalign clear aligners make it easy for you to enjoy every part of your orthodontic treatment. Simply take them out to clean your teeth and for any other need.
And there are more! We can talk with you about other benefits when you come in for your consultation with our experienced dentist.
The Process
After your consultation and decision to start Invisalign treatment, the first thing we will do is make a digital model of your smile using the iTero® digital scanner. This will allow us to make precise tooth movements and keep a close eye on your progress as time goes on. From that model, we will create your first set of trays, which you will wear according to instructions from our dentist.
After you start, you will come into our office around every two weeks for a quick exam and a new set of aligners. Each set will move your teeth gently into their new alignment, and you will begin to notice your new smile forming as the months go by. Be sure to continue wearing your aligners as instructed, even if you think they are working fine! Failure to follow our instructions will result in a longer treatment time and possible complications.
FAQ
How long will my treatment take?
It depends on your case. Simple cases can take as short as six months, while more complex cases can take anywhere from 12 to 24 months. The most important thing you can do while undergoing treatment is to vigilantly follow the instructions you receive from our dentist. Not following these instructions will cause your treatment to take longer.
Will I have any dietary restrictions while undergoing treatment?
Nope! But that does not mean you can simply ignore your aligners when you want to eat. First, make sure you always remove them before you eat anything, and be sure to keep them in their case, not a napkin or paper towel. Second, be sure to clean out your mouth before putting your aligners back in. Brushing your teeth is the best, but at least rinse out your mouth with water. If you do not, you aligners could get dirty and discolored.
Are there are any other things I need to know during treatment?
Our dentist will be sure to give you in-depth instructions before you begin, so be sure to ask any questions you have before or during your care. We are always happy to give you the answers you need for a successful treatment.
